Agree on the physical format
Confirm the finished size, page count, fold or binding method and intended paper with your print provider. Ask for their artwork specifications, including bleed, safe areas, image resolution and preferred file format.
Map the story page by page
Give every page a clear role. A brochure might move from introduction to benefits, collection, detail and contact. Keep a working outline with the copy and images for each page before refining the visual rhythm.
Check the content as a complete piece
Review the cover, page order, headlines, captions, contact details and any repeated elements together. Make sure images have enough detail for their printed size. Look for awkward page turns, inconsistent margins and text that is difficult to read.
Ask for a production proof
Use your print provider’s requirements for the final handoff, and request a proof before a production run. Check the actual output for color, trimming and readability. Resolve production questions with the provider who will make the finished piece.
